Montgomery County News

This Page of the web site, which is set up as a Forum, is used to convey to our residents important or interesting County activities, and also to enable our residents to discuss these activities among themselves.

There are two recurring topics.  Usually once a week the County's Neighborhood News newsletter is re-posted here.  The newsletter consists of short articles about current and upcoming activities within the County, with a special focus on activities occurring on the western side of the County.

The second recurring topic area are the highlights from discussions at the monthly meeting of the Western Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Board (CAB).  The purpose of the meeting is to provide a setting where approximately fifteen individuals representing various community associations (we do not sit on the Board), local businesses, and County officials, can discuss significant activities and concerns.  Usually at each meeting invited speaker(s) make a presentation to the Board. Some of the recent speakers include Ike Leggett, the County Executive, and the  Chief of Police, Thomas Manger.  During the meeting the Board also conducts the usual kind of Board meeting activities, such as reviewing and approving the minutes of the prior month's meeting. committee reports, etc.

In addition to these recurring topics, occasionally a commentary on special County-Government related topics will be posted.

This Page has been created as a Forum so you can initiate or participate in a discussion.  If you are unfamiliar on how you can participate in a Forum, you will find a write-up in the introduction to the Forum Gateway page.
